LOOKING TO PARTICIPATE?

Looking to participate in a sport that requires skill, strength, strategic thinking and the desire to play as part of a team?  Whatever level you play at, baseball can enhance your life, improving fitness, strength and coordination.

Whether you are looking to play casually in our recreational league or competitively with one of our traveling teams, you'll find our organization to be a great place to learn new skills and meet new friends.

Our History

Hartford Sand Little League was  re-established in 1989 at Waverly Field.  Helping to re-establish Little League  Baseball in the Northend of Hartford were leaders and community volunteers of South Arsenal Neighborhood Development Organization.  The League was organized to nurture and develop the athletic life skills of Hartford Youth, and to prepare them for high school baseball programs.

The League began with four teams in '89 and has since grown to 15 teams at four different levels.  In 1994, we became Hartford Northend Little League, and we participated in the nationally-sanctioned Baseball Tournament for the first time! Over 300 Boys and Girls, between the ages of 6-15 years old , now participate in the following leagues:

  •  T-Ball for ages  5-8
  • Little League for ages 9-12
  • Girls Softball for ages 9-12
  • Pony League for ages 13-15

We continue to grow and to provide Hartford Youth with a positive recreational athletic program. League volunteers reached out to individuals, businesses and organizations in the community for assistance and involvement. The League’s ability to serve more Youth and to continue a strong and positive Baseball program will depend on the refurbishment and expansion of Waverly Field.
Funding and support are sought to create playing fields and facilities that will be suitable to all levels of playing T-Ball, Little League, Girls Softball, and Pony League.

An expanded Waverly Field to be improved in cooperation with the City of Hartford Parks & Recreation Department, will allow Hartford Northend Little League to expand its services to the community and to host tournament games for Little League Baseball.
